The Lebanese army units deployed in the barrens of the northeastern town of Arsal managed on Sunday to arrest a key terrorist at one of their checkpoints.
According to the national news agency, the army arrested in Arsal the Syrian national J. Sharafeddine, who is the private doctor of al-Nusra Font's commander in Qalamoun Abu Malek al-Talleh.
Nusra Front (Qaeda branch in the Levant) as well as ISIL has been controlling parts of Arsal-Qalamoun barrens; however, the Lebanese army, Hezbollah and the Syrian military have been striking both terrorist groups in the area, obliging them to withdraw from swathes of territories and inflicting heavy losses upon their militants.
