Lebanon Prime Minister Najib Miqati voiced on Friday his satisfaction with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi’s wise assessment of affairs
Lebanon Prime Minister Najib Miqati voiced on Friday his satisfaction with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi’s wise assessment of affairs, according to Naharnet.
He said after holding talks with al-Rahi at Diman: “The patriarch issues his positions based on his convictions.” “I don’t believe that he will retract his stands,” he added.
The premier told reporters that his talks with patriarch addressed “all issues,” refusing to reveal further details.
Miqati made his statements after a traditional visit to al-Rahi at his summer residence in Diman.
The visit included closed-door talks with the patriarch and a meeting with Maronite bishops. Miqati’s visit to Diman is a tradition followed by prime ministers during the tenure of former Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir.
