Two Afghans killed in bomb blast in Northern Afghanistan, NATO soldier killed in another attack
A bomb blast killed a policeman and a village elder in northern Afghanistan on Thursday.
The explosion happened in Kunduz province as the elder showed an improvised explosive device (IED) to the policeman in Chahardara district, local police chief Ghulam Mahyuddin said. "The IED was set on the main road of the district close to the public market," he said. "The wires and a portion of the IED was out of the ground and was visible and was recognized by the village elder who died."
Elsewhere on Thursday, a foreign soldier died after an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan, NATO's US-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said, without giving further details in line with policy.
