Maan news agency reported the event, citing occupation police, and adding that the Israeli forces were searching the area for the suspect.

According to Israeli police spokesperson Luba al-Samri an 18-year-old Israeli was leaving a Jewish cemetery at the Mount of Olives when an unidentified youth stabbed him with a screwdriver in the neck and back before fleeing the scene.

The Israeli youth took a bus to a nearby police station to report the incident, before being transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Al-Samri said that police were still looking for the suspect, Maan added.
