The leaders of Russia, Germany, and France have agreed to meet to discuss the situation in Ukraine on September 4-5 on the sidelines of the G20 summit in China, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.
Vladimir Putin spoke with Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Francois Hollande by phone on Tuesday, the Kremlin said, adding that Putin had drawn attention to Ukraine’s provocations in Crimea, Reuters reported.
The leaders stressed “the importance of the provision of a permanent legislative framework for the special status of Donbass, the constitutional reform and amnesty, and the organization of local elections,” TASS said.
They also noted that these issues should be coordinated within the Contact Group on the Ukrainian crisis.
