Israeli occupation troops have launched an attack on the northeastern Gaza Strip on Monday on the eve of the presentation of the Palestinians' proposal for membership in the United Nations.
Residential buildings were struck during the offensive, but there are no reports of any casualties so far.
The Palestinian Authority will formally submit a request to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for approval of Palestine's membership in the world body on September 20, during the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli occupation forces have abducted at least nine Palestinians during operations in the cities of Jenin, al-Khalil and Bethlehem. A member of the resistance movement Hamas is reported to be among those captured.
