The two US nationals convicted of illegal entry and espionage in Iran have reportedly landed in Oman's capital, Muscat after being released on bail.
Shane Michael Bauer and Joshua Felix Fattal, both 29, flew to the Persian Gulf state in an aircraft from Oman's Royal Air Force late on Wednesday.
They arrived at Muscat's Royal airport -- the private airfield of Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said -- shortly after they departed from Tehran's Mehrabad Airport, AFP reported.
"They are healthy, happy and strong," Fattal's father told the news agency.
Earlier on Wednesday, Branch 36 of Tehran's Appeals Court agreed to commute the detention sentences of the two to release on a total bail of USD 1,000,000.
Bauer and Fattal were arrested along with Sarah Shourd, another US national, on the Iranian soil in July 2009 after illegally crossing the border from the mountains of the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
Speaking to reporters in New York on Wednesay, US President Barack Obama hailed the decision by Iran, saying he was “thrilled" by the news.
The families of the released convicts said in a joint statement that it was "the best day of our lives."
