Our Great Martyrs...Hallmark of Victory: Hussein Sabra (Video)

Hussein was martyred after the war was over, for when he was done with fighting Zionist soldiers, he started working in dissembling the internationally banned cluster bombs that the enemy had left behind.

Martyr Hussein Abbas Sabra

Hussein Abbas Sabra was born in the Shahabiyya village in Tyr on the 2nd of March, 1977.

His mother died when he was a baby and so he lived as an orphan in a religiously committed family. His father used to provide him with love and passion and was concerned of raising him into being a good person, and so he used to take him along to the mosque for performing the prayers.

Hussein dropped out of school after finishing the fifth grade and worked in sanitary products when he was 15 years old.

He was loved and known for his sense of humor, and the smile that always accompanied him made him close to everyone. Martyr Hussein had high morals as he used to help the poor and the needy, and fulfill the needs of anyone who asked him for help. He was known for his devotion to work and love to everyone, for as soon as he used to return from work he used to visit and check up on his family and friends.

The martyr completed his pilgrimage duty and visited the shrine of Sayyeda Zainab (as). He used to follow up religious lectures in his hometown mosque, and had special compassion to Sayyeda Fatima Al-Zahraa (as).

Hussein used to love reading especially about martyrs. His family had a major role in his decision to become a resistance fighter. He joined the Al-Mahdi scouts when he was 16years old. He later got influenced by martyr Abdul Rasoul Baydoun, went through several educational courses, and joined the Islamic Resistance.

Furthermore, Hussein took part in various operations against the Israeli enemy killing many of its soldiers.

In the Battlefield:

In July 2006 Hussein worked on the frontlines throughout all the days of the war.

Even though the war was over, the mujahedeen’s role did not end, for Israel’s maliciousness against the Lebanese made it throw millions of cluster bombs on neighborhoods in the South after a decision to stop hostilities was declared at the UN.

And so, as soon as Hussein was done with fighting Zionist soldiers, he started working in dissembling the internationally banned cluster bombs that the enemy had left behind.

When he was working in Majdal Silem, and after dissembling one of the bombs, it dropped out of his hand into the box that held all the other bombs, and so they all exploded at once, and Hussein was instantly martyred.

His body was buried on the 21st of August, 2006 in Mais Al-Jabal.
