The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressed that Palestine remained the first central cause in our Islamic world, calling on the Islamic world to adopt the resistance choice, since it had brought triumph for the nation.
At the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada, Imam Khamenei said: “Palestine had a special stature, since it holds within unique characteristics. It is a Muslim country that was occupied by dispersed people who committed brutal crimes.”
As his eminence stressed that the resistance has changed the region and defeated the Zionist entity “who is heavily armed”, he called the Muslim World to adopt this choice.
Imam Khamenei said that Israel has been strongly helped by arrogant states, pointing to the British and US role in the creation of the Zionist entity.
His eminence also strongly slammed US President Barack Obama for setting Israel's security as his red line.
“The US president says that Israel's security is his red line. What has drawn this red line, the interests of the American nation, or Obama's need for the money and support of Zionist companies to secure his second term as the US president?”
“This red line drawn by Obama and people like him will be crossed by Muslim nations that have risen up,” the Leader added.
The Leader said that the real threat to Israel was the resolve of Muslim countries that did not want the US, Europe or their “stooges” to rule over their countries.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that Western countries had to stop their support for Israel and recognize Palestinians' rights or face heavier blows in a not very distant future.
The Leader also urged Muslim countries to cut off overt and covert diplomatic and economic relations with Israel to prove their sincerity in supporting Palestinians.
The 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada opened at the Summit Conference Hall in Tehran on Saturday.
The conference focuses on the restoration of Palestinians' rights, including their rights to return to their homeland and determine their own fate, and on the liberation of Palestinian territories occupied by Israel. It has chosen “Palestine, Homeland of Palestinians” as its motto.
Representatives, parliament speakers and scholars from different countries as well as a number of Palestinian leaders were attending the two-day event.
Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri attended the conference. He also delivered a speech, insisting on the importance of resistance, and assuring that “resistance is the right way to liberate Palestine”.
