Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tells Speaker Nabih Berri Iran’s support for Lebanon continuous
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reiterated on Sunday, during a meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri in Tehran, Iran’s support for Lebanon.
“You have formed a resistance that gave us hope because of its victories and accomplishments,” Ahmadinejad said, addressing Berri.
For his part, Berri said that the region was passing through a critical stage. He emphasized that Lebanon was not an island, and therefore Lebanon is affected by the developments in the region. He said that the Israeli enemy still occupies part of its land, which means its sovereignty is incomplete.
Berri thanked Iran for its continuous support to Palestine through organizing the international conference in support of the Palestinian intifada.
The Speaker also raised the issue of Imam Sayyed Mussa as-Sadr who disappeared in Libya 33 years ago. He urged the Iranian president to “follow up the issue.”
