Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says while capitalist powers are secretly trying to plunder the resources of other nations capitalism has reached its end.
“Today, capitalism is planning to occupy countries, freeze their assets and empty their pockets, and does all this under beautiful disguises and slogans,” Ahmadinejad told the Fifth National Conference of the Elite in Tehran on Tuesday, IRNA reported.
“The masks and claims of the capitalist establishment is very beautiful, but this system is at its end and has reached a dead-end,” he added.
Ahmadinejad referred to the fall of Marxism despite its slogan of equality due to “the greatest indignities it imposed on humanity.”
The president pointed to the world's thirst for a new culture and ideology, and praised the Iranian nation as the one which has the required capacities to “fill this vacuum in the world and meet human needs” in this regard.
“If the Iranian nation's share [of contributions] is taken away from the world's civilization and culture, humanity will have nothing left,” he asserted.
Ahmadinejad praised Iran for symbolizing “the quest for justice, monotheism, liberty, freedom, and love” as part of its history and literature.
He criticized Turkey for agreeing to allow NATO to station an early warning radar in the southeast of the country that will serve as part of the alliance's missile defense system.
Ahmadinejad said the defense system was meant to protect Israel against Iranian missile attacks in the event a war breaks out with Israel. "The missile defense shield is aimed at defending the Zionist regime. They don't want to let our missiles land in the occupied territories (Israel) if one day they take action against us. That's why they put it there," Ahmadinejad said.
