Ayatollah Khamenei said enemy seditions were foiled by the Iranian nation’s resilience and the prudent leadership of late Imam Khomeini

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that the Iranians “were able to replace pressure and sanctions with a chance that was the reason behind our development in various fields in order to become a model in the region a matter we could not have been able to achieve through tens of years.”

In an address to tens of thousands of people in the western Iran city of Kermanshah, Sayyed Khamenei noted that Islamic Iran, following the victory of Islamic Revolution, “has overcome all the soft and hard challenges posed by the enemies, with the Iranian nation’s support.”

Huge crowds of enthusiastic people of the western province, already gathered in the capital city of the province, welcomed their Leader after they spent last night in streets and alleys close to Azadi square decorating the route from Kermanshah airport to Azadi stadium.

Concerning the “Occupy Wall Street” protests against corporatism in the United States, his eminence highlighted the importance of its continuation as US officials made efforts to downplay the protests, and kept silent on the issue even 2 to 3 weeks after the eruption of the protests.

Although they are suppressing the protesters, they are unable to uproot the causes of corruption in the capitalist system, Ayatollah Khamenei added denouncing the heavy-handed treatment of the demonstrators by US officials, saying such a treatment is not seen even in underdeveloped countries with dictatorial regimes.

In the thousand-strong New York demonstrations, people use the slogan "We are the 99 percent" which means that the remaining one percent is condemned, Ayatollah Khamenei stated. He emphasized that the one percent of the American population waged the war in Iraq, and that they are the ones who support the Israeli regime and are making every effort to keep the “cancerous tumor” alive in the region.

His eminence emphasized on the valuable role of the Iranian people in reinforcement of the sacred Islamic system might as what distinguishes Iran’s Islamic Revolution from other revolutions.

“Iranian people will participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections comprehensively despite provocations,” Imam Khamenei said as the ninth parliamentary elections in Iran are scheduled for March 2012. He said people should vote to a kind, faithful candidate who has not relation with wealth centers

The Leader of Islamic Revolution also thanked the people of Kermanshah for their massive presence in different periods of time and lauded their sacrifices.
