A suicide attack in southern Afghanistan killed three police officers and wounded four others on Friday, local police told media sources.
A car bomb exploded at around 06:00 pm local time (13:30 GMT) in the town of Spin Boldak, near the border with Pakistan in Kandahar province, General Abdul Raziq, local police chief said.
Three police officers were killed and four others wounded, including three other police officers and one civilian.
"The explosion took place at a time when the police were busy checking vehicles, and the suicide bomber was stopped with his explosive-laden Toyota sedan and immediately he detonated his explosives."
Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, he added.
