The Iranian Red Crescent Society has completed setting up 50 emergency tents in the affected area in eastern Turkey, IRNA reported Monday.
Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Mahmoud Mozaffar was quoted as saying that “Turkish officials have defined an area in the Van region for Iranian rescuers to bring medical assistance to the injured."
He further indicated that “some 20 Iranian relief workers along with a group of evaluators, 20 ambulances, mobile hospital, emergency tents and food stuff have been sent to the region early Monday.”
In parallel, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi had a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu, in which he expressed his condolences over this disaster.
