Jordan FM summoned Israeli ambassador in Amman following the attack
Jordan has officially complained to Israel after a police interrogation of two Jordanian embassy employees, official news agency reported.
Foreign Minister Nasser Jawdeh summoned the Israeli ambassador to Jordan and sent a protest note in response to "aggression against two staff members of the Jordanian embassy in Israel.”
The note calls for Israeli authorities to "investigate the incident and take all measures to prevent it from happening again," Petra news agency agency said.
The embassy employees told Jordanian news agencies that they were attacked by Israeli police officers on Tuesday while making their way home. One of the employees gave an interview from the hospital, where he was placed due to injuries sustained from the incident.
But a spokesman for the Israeli police, Micky Rosenfeld, told AFP that the embassy employees “were interrogated shortly in the area where police patrol,” adding that “their identity card and passports do not match exactly.”
“They were released after a short period when things had been clarified."
