The bodies of two Palestinian martyrs killed overnight in an Israeli raid on Gaza were found at dawn on Monday near Khan Yunis, local medics said.
The two belonged to Al-Ansar Brigades, which is understood to be close to Gaza's ruling Hamas movement.
In a statement sent to AFP, the group said it was in favor of a truce agreement on rocket fire which went into effect early on Sunday but said "it won't prevent us from responding to (Israeli) attacks."
The discovery of the two bodies raised to 12 the total number of people martyred in 36 hours of deadly clashes in and around Gaza. One Israeli have been killed so far.
The Israeli military confirmed the overnight attack, saying it had targeted "a terrorist squad that fired a Qassam rocket at Israel" at around midnight.
The Zionist army didn’t clarify the reason behind breaking the truce that the Islamic Jihad said it committed itself to as long as the occupation did. The Israeli occupation forces ignited violence between Israel and the Gaza strip Saturday after striking Rafah and killing nine Palestinians.
