"The armed groups were present in the suburb, we didn't notice any shelling on the safe houses and we are astonished at the fabrications of some TV channels that claimed the shelling," Sheikh Abdul-Elah al-Soufi, Imam of al-Saman Mosque told the Syrian TV in a speech on Monday.

For their part, Baba Amro residents said “the area was confused due to the presence of armed groups who were shooting fires, but the situation is returning to calm and stability,” SANA state news agency reported Tuesday.

Other citizens underlined that the mines planted by the armed groups could destroy Baba Amro neighborhood, but the Army dismantled them.

It is worthy to mention that some Arab media channels have worked to spread rumors that “Syrian Arab Army has stormed Baba Amro neighborhood, began bombing and destruction of houses.

The channels sought to promote those rumors as a prelude to the demands of some of the "Syrian parties" abroad to have "international protection of the city of Homs and its neighborhoods.”
