Israeli settlers hurled rocks at the home of freed prisoner Hani Jaber in Khalil
Israeli settlers hurled rocks at the home of freed prisoner Hani Jaber in Khalil, media reports said Sunday.
Dozens of settlers were held back by Israeli occupation forces from the home of Jaber, 35, who was released from Israeli jail in a prisoner swap secured by Hamas in October, Al-Jazeera said.
Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said police intercepted clashes that broke out after the incident on Saturday, German press agency DPA reported.
Jaber was serving a life sentence in Israel jail after he was charged with killing a resident of the Jewish settlement Kiryat Arba that abuts Khalil in the southern West Bank.
Kiryat Arba settlers put a $100,000 price tag on Jaber's life after he was set free, Al-Jazeera reported.
