Such moves will only complicate the region’s situation
Iran summoned Bahrain's charge d'affaires to voice Tehran's rejection to Manama’s baseless claims that members of a terrorist cell had contacts with Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and were plotting terror operations against high profile sites in Bahrain prior to their arrest.
The Bahraini diplomat was reportedly summoned Sunday to the foreign ministry, a week after Iran complained publicly of the “ridiculous” claims.
In a meeting with Bahraini charge d'affaires on Sunday, Hossein Kamalian, a top Iranian foreign ministry official in charge of Gulf affairs, dismissed Bahrain's allegations, which he warned would play into the hands of the region's foes.
"These moves will not do anything to resolve Bahrain's problem," Kamalian said adding that they would only complicate the region's situation. "The solution to Bahrain's issues is a proper response to the legitimate demands of Bahraini Muslims."
The Bahraini charge d'affaires said he would convey the message to the Bahraini officials immediately and will inform Tehran of their response.
