Israeli police arrests two Israelis suspected of killing a Palestinian man in Jerusalem.
Indictments to be submitted against 4 Jewish boys from settlements and Je'lem after Husam Rawidi was murdered in nationalistic attack.Police on Wednesday released more details following the arrest of four Jewish 16- and 17-year-old boys suspected of stabbing to death 24-year-old Husam Rawidi in central Jerusalem two weeks ago.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that while the Israelis had been drinking, it now appeared that the victim, Hossam al Rawidi was "attacked because he was an Arab," Army Radio reported.
Two other Israelis have now been arrested and police have discovered the knife used in the killing, said Rosenfeld.
Two of the boys are residents of the settlements and another two are from Jerusalem.
Police said they believe the suspects saw the Arab youth walking with his friend and decided to attack him, according to the report. Two other youths joined in on the attack and stabbed them, killing Rawidi.
They said indictments will be submitted against the four boys in the coming days.
In December, nine Jewish young people were arrested in Jerusalem on suspicion of perpetrating a series of serious attacks on Arab youth in the city’s hangout areas over the previous weeks, Jerusalem police said.
