Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem condemned March 14’s “silence” over Israel’s detonation Friday of an espionage device in southern Lebanon, while it never stops talking about its commitment to Lebanon's freedom, independence and dignity.
“March 14, which does not [stop] saying it is concerned about Lebanon’s freedom, independence and dignity, did not condemn the incident [which was] Israeli aggression and a violation of Lebanese sovereignty,” Sheikh Qassem said during an Ashoura’ funeral at the holy shrine of Sayyeda Khawla in Baalbek, daughter of Imam Hussein (as).
Qassem also asked why UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon did not condemn “this flagrant violation against Lebanon… while he quickly condemns incidents on the other side [Zionist enemy] and says they are a dangerous violation of UN [Security Council Resolution] 1701.”
Sheikh Qassem said Hezbollah and its allies are keen on political stability and state-building on an institutional basis and addressing people's affairs under effective government, particularly in disadvantaged zones such as Baalbek, Hermel, Akkar and other areas; for the government which if weren't, we would be today dependent on the U.S. administration and the Zionist project, and supporting attacks against Syria.
His eminence believed the coming months will witness many encroachments in the region, as a result of the US defeat in Iraq as well as due to its loss in other several areas, including the US-led July 2006 war, and its defeat in Syria a”fter failing to make a coup within one or two weeks.”
"When it [US] failed, it turned to Arab countries in a bid to continue aggravating the crisis," sheikh Qassem concluded.
On Friday the Zionist surveillance aircraft detonated an espionage device in southern Lebanon that had been monitoring a communications network.
