Israeli settlers set a mosque in central Al-Quds on fire Tuesday night after having written insulting anti-Muslim phrases on its walls.
According to Haaretz, the mosque that is located in the middle of an Ultra-Orthodox neighborhood, was abandoned after the Israeli occupation and was recently renovated and turned into a municipal storage facility.
The phrases that were sprayed on the walls of the historical mosque included insults to the Islamic prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and anti-Arab phrases such as “A good Arab is an Arab in the grave”.
“The Jerusalem municipality closed off the entrance to the mosque, and the police began an investigation,” the Israeli daily reported.
