The UN General Assembly requested for the sixth consecutive year that Zionist entity compensate Lebanon and Syria for the pollution of their shores following the destruction of oil storage tanks in Lebanon during the 2006 July War.
“Compensation was expected promptly and to be adequate to restore the marine environment and repair the environmental damage,” said a statement issued following the 91st meeting of the General Assembly on Thursday.
“The Assembly adopted the draft resolution by a recorded vote of 165 in favor to 8 against,” the statement added.
Australia, Canada, Zionist entity, and the United States were among the member-states that voted against the draft resolution, while six states including Cameroon, Central African Republic and Colombia abstained from the vote.
