Thousands of Syrians mourn on Saturday the victims of the terrorist attacks that have targeted Damascus a day earlier.

Wrapped up with the Syrian flags, bodies of the victims arrived in the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, where thousands of citizens flocked to participate in the funeral.

Shiekh Mohamamd Said Bouti said during the ceremony that the bombings were a message from the Head of the Syrian National Council (SNC), Burhan Ghalioun.
Shiekh Bouti also called on the Arab League Delegation to “examine the facts in Syria in order to know who the murderer is and who the murdered is”.

44 civilians and soldiers were killed on Friday as twin suicide bombings targeted two security services bases in Damascus.

The attack took place when one tried to ram a vehicle packed with explosives into the compound of the General Security Directorate in the Kfar Suseh neighborhood of Damascus, witnesses said.
A second blew up a vehicle outside a nearby military intelligence building.

The attacks were the first against the powerful security services in the heart of Damascus since the unrest started last March.
