President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad criticized the way some Arab states, specifically the Arab League, are dealing with the Syrian Crisis.
In a statement he delivered Wednesday in Ilam City east Iran, Ahmadinejad said that “the funniest joke in history and in our time is that some people, who don’t have democracy, freedom, or elections in their countries, prepare and issue reports against another county, and state that this country must have free elections.”
The Iranian President also warned of the consequences of pleasing certain regional countries which are entitled to defend America and Europe’s benefits in the region.
In parallel, he indicated that “the Western projects which are opponent to Iran aim at inciting conflict between the people of the region.”
“I advice the Western states to avoid taking stances against Iran,” Ahmadinjead added, emphasizing that “Iran will not withdraw its right to confront all the challenges and pressures imposed on it by the Western side.”
