Britain is preparing for an attack on Syria similar to the battle against former Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi, only bigger and bloodier, the Daily Star reported Sunday.
Quoting an anonymous security official, the British daily reported that “CIA and MI6 agents are already in Syria assessing the situation and talking to Syrian dissident soldiers … in order to learn what weapons and communications kit rebel forces will need if the government decides to help.”
“Syria supports Hezbollah. That threatens Israel and the whole of the Middle East… This has been given the highest priority as the whole thing could implode… This is all going like Libya but this will be bigger and bloodier,” the security source further indicated.
In parallel, the Daily Star pointed out that “NATO-backed flight ban over Syria has been discussed by the British Cabinet’s National Security Council.”
