Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Tuesday that Israel is the source of all the problems in the region and the Zionist regime is based on sedition and division.

Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with the head of the Turkish-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group of Turkey, Murat Yildirim, in the Iranian capital Tehran.

He condemned the continuation of Israeli settlement construction and called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to fulfill its responsibility in this issue.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that resistance is the only way for the Palestinians to attain their rights.

Salehi also said that certain Western countries are trying to mount pressure on the Islamic Republic in order to hinder the country's progress.
