Lebanon, Russia, and Iran condemned the suicide attack that targeted civilians in the Syrian capital Damascus, killing at least 26 people and wounding 63 others.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour condemned Friday the terrorist bomb attack saying: “Once again repulsive terrorism has hit the Syrian capital Damascus, which is an indication to a new and dangerous phase that does not only affect Syria, but also opens the doors for new terror operations that extend across regions and borders.”

The Lebanese Lebanese National News agency further quoted Mansour as saying that “as we strongly condemn this terror crime, we send our condolences to the Syrian leadership, people, and relatives of the victims of this hideous crime…”

“We are keen that with the consciousness of the brotherly Syrian people and its leadership, and their awareness of what is being fabricated against Syria and the region, they will be able to confront sedition and terrorism that is targeting the safety of Syria and the region…” he added.

For its part, Russia also condemned the terrorist act describing it as "a brutal unjustifiable act".

In a statement it issued, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that “Russia vehemently condemns this terrorist act that can't have any justification and whose executers must get the punishment they deserve."

Moreover, Russia expressed its sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and its sympathy and solidarity with those affected.

In parallel, the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned the attack and expressed its sympathy with the victims’ families.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted by media as saying that "without doubt, the unity and vigilance of the Syrian government and people are disappointing the enemies of Syria who think only of internal war, breaking up the country and making it submit to the demands of the axis of America and Zionism."
