Saudi security forces clashed early Friday with protesters in the eastern part of the kingdom, killing one person and wounding three others.

The Saudi security forces opened fire with live rounds while protesters hurled stones at one of their vehicles in the village of Al-Awamiya in the Qatif Region.

Activists said 22-year-old Issam Mohammad, was killed by multiple bullet wounds, and three other people were wounded by security force fire, one of them a man driving through a checkpoint at the entrance to the village.

The brutal attack started when about 20 Saudi GMC vehicles entered Awamia Thursday evening and began roaming the neighborhoods in an attempt to storm homes. That provoked the town's young men who took to the streets and rally at Dignity Square in the town.

The Saudi forces then fired live bullets at demonstrators to disperse the crowd, which led to the death of Abu Abdullah and left three of his fellows wounded.

Sources stressed Saudi troops fired at the martyr from a very close distance, before they dragged and beaten him by their machine guns.

Following the martyrdom of Abu Abdallah, dozens of youths took to the streets to complete the march, which the sixth martyr of Qatif swore to continue until their demands be applied, through political reforms, release of political prisoners and the end of sectarian discrimination.

Qatif is experiencing demonstrations to achieve those demands since more than ten months; yet, protests have raged in the month of November when four Saudi youths were martyred by Saudi security forces’ bullets, and a total of 400 people were arrested.
