Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Thursday met with the committee tasked with following up on the dialogue between Bkirki and Hezbollah.
The committee comprises Bkirki representatives Bishop Samir Mazloum and Hareth Shehab and Hezbollah envoys Ghaleb Abu Zainab and Mustafa al-Hajj Ali. The meeting was also attended by lawyer Walid Ghayyad, the director of Bkirki’s press office.
Al-Rahi stressed during the talks the importance of “launching dialogue among all the Lebanese according to the spiritual and national principles and values.”
The conferees managed during the meeting to “define the framework within which dialogue would be conducted,” state-run National News Agency reported.
They also agreed that the committee would continue discussions on the aforementioned framework in upcoming periodic meetings.
On Monday the patriarch revealed that “serious dialogue has been launched with Hezbollah in order for all matters to be laid out in the open at the national dialogue” table.
