UN Chief Ban Ki-moon, and as usual, turned his back on the Zionist entity’s continuous violations to the Lebanese sovereignty. However he didn’t stop short of slamming the Syrian regime, as he called on President Bashar Assad to “stop killing his people”.

“Today, I say again to President Assad of Syria: Stop the violence. Stop killing your people. The path of repression is a dead end”, Ban said on Sunday during a conference on “Reform and Transition to Democracy” in Beirut.
"The winds of change will not cease to blow. The flame ignited in Tunisia will not be dimmed."

On the Israeli occupation he only said the “occupation Arab and Palestinian territories must end. So must violence against civilians”.

"Settlements, new and old, are illegal. They work against the emergence of a viable Palestinian state," said the UN secretary general.
"A two-state solution is long overdue. The status quo offers only the guarantee of future conflict."

Ban’s remarks on Israeli occupation came following Prime Minsiter Najib Miqati’s speech during the conference in which the PM said that that the Zionist entity was the main causes for instability in the region.

“Israel is violating our sovereignty by land, sea and air. It is occupying our lands, while Lebanon is going on with the implementation of the (UN Security Council) Resolution 1701)”, Miqati said during the conference, stressing on Lebanon’s right to “liberate its occupied territory through all possible means”.
