Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Islamic Republic close to making great strides, taking huge leaps
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is about to make great strides following the implementation of his administration's so-called 'targeted subsidies' economic plan.
“Our country is close to taking huge leaps and we should continue managing the consumption,” President Ahmadinejad said during the simultaneous inauguration ceremony of 37 grain depots across the country. “This requires self-confidence, firm action and unity, all of which exist in our country,” IRIB quoted him as saying.
The Iranian chief executive also announced that Iran is capable of tripling its agricultural production.
Noting that Iran's annual agricultural production is 100 million tons, the president said that Iran can raise this amount to 300 million tons annually.” “This is indicative of a great economic and political power, which can deeply affect the international market,” he pointed out.
Ahmadinejad further added that Iran's daily gasoline production will reach 57 million liters within the next two months and will reach 70-75 million liters by the end of the next Persian calendar year.
