Lebanese cabinet approved raising minimum wage from 500,000 LL to 675,000 LL
The Lebanese cabinet on Wednesday approved raising minimum wage from 500,000 LL to 675,000 LL.
A raise ranging between 175,000 LL and 236,000 LL will be added to salaries that range between 500,000 LL and 1 million LL.
Employees who earn a salary ranging between 1 million LL and 1.5 million LL will get a raise of maximum 281,000 LL, and those earning more than 1.5 million LL will get a raise that does not exceed 300,000 LL.
The cabinet also assigned Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas to prepare a draft law that allows the government to set a mechanism for the transportation and education allowances.
The cabinet’s decision followed an agreement reached between the economic committees and the General Workers’ Union.
