“All signs indicated that the Arab monitoring mission in Syria would be extended for a month”, Deputy Chief of the Monitors Operations' Room Ali Jaroush said.

For his part, the Chief of the Monitors operation, Adnan Issa al-Khodeir, said that the Head of the mission, Sudanese Gen Mohammed al-Dabi, had delayed his visit to Cairo for 48 hours following the postponement of the league meeting from Saturday to Sunday.

The league will propose its recommendations after it will discuss the report on the situation in Syria. The proposals will be discussed as the Arab foreign ministers are set to meet also on Monday in order to discuss the future of the mission.
The mission officially expired on Thursday.
