French newspaper, Le Figaro, uncovered on Friday that French journalist was killed by the so-called Free Syrian Army.

The magazine quoted a member of anti-regime forces who said that the reporter's death "is a permanent mark on us; we know that it was an atrocious act committed by the Free Syrian Army”.

Gilles Jacquier was killed on January 11, when a shell exploded among some 15 journalists covering the incidents in Homs. Eight Syrians were also killed in the attack, Syrian news agency SANA said, adding that several other people were wounded.

Commenting on the report, an Arab League official said: “We know it was a blunder by the Free Syrian Army”.
We know it was a blunder by the Free Syrian Army, as it accused President Bashar Assad’s regime of the killing.
