"Three children were killed and another six elders were wounded."
Three children were killed and six civilians were injured Wednesday as a bicycle bomb exploded in southern Afghanistan at a temporary camp for pilgrims returning from the holy Mecca, police told AFP news agency.
"Three children were killed and another six elders were wounded," provincial police chief General Mohammad Khan Mujahid said.
The dead children were selling plastic and paper flowers at the camp, around 10 kilometers south of Kandahar city. Most of those wounded were taxi drivers. The camp was clear of pilgrims at the time.
The bomb was detonated remotely, local officials added in a statement which confirmed the casualty toll.
