Hundreds of thousands of Syrians gathered on Thursday since early morning to main squares in Damascus, Aleppo, Hasaka and Deir az-Zour in support to President Bashar al-Assad, Syrian news agency SANA reported.

The main gathering was in Saba Bahrat square in Damascus.

The protesters “took to the streets to reject the recent decisions by the Arab League which are but flagrant violation of the Syrian independence and sovereignty,” SANA said.

The protesters chanted pro-Assad songs, embracing his pictures, and waving national banners and Syrian Flags.
