Hamas Prime Minister in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyeh took off Monday for a regional tour expected to include stops in Iran, Qatar and Bahrain, AFP reported.
Quoting Haniyeh’s spokesman Taher Al-Nunu, AFP added that the Palestinian PM “will go to Qatar on a special Qatari plane departing from the Al-Arish airport for a Tuesday meeting with the Qatari prince."
Accompanied with his political adviser Yussef Rizq, his minister of housing and public works Yussef Al-Mansi and two key Hamas officials, Haniyeh will also visit Bahrain and Iran, after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent him an official invitation.
Other stops might include Kuwait, AFP added.
This is the second tour for the Palestinian PM, and it comes less than one month after his first regional tour since 2006, which included visits to Egypt, Sudan, Turkey and Tunisia.
