Millions of Iranians across the country began celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran since early Wednesday morning (February, 1), as thousands of Iranians brought flowers to the mausoleum of the republic’s founder Imam Rohullah Khomeini.
A parade was held and the tombs of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution were showered with flowers.
The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Dawn (Fajr), which culminates with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.
Celebrations included cultural programs in some 30,000 mosques and photo exhibitions, film and photo festivals as well as sports competitions. Also, artists from 100 countries and 200 Muslim scholars have requested to attend the ceremonies, Press TV quoted director of Ten Days of Dawn ceremonies Mohammad-Hossein Zare as saying.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei paid tribute to the late Imam Khomeini in which He visited His mausoleum in southern Tehran. Ayatollah Khamenei then visited the tombs of a number of martyrs.
