Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met Wednesday with Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah and stressed that the Palestinian people’s resistance was an inspiration to the Islamic awakening in the region, Fars news agency reported.
Ahmadinejad pointed out that “the Palestinians' resistance against the occupying Zionist regime has always been inspiring for the Muslim nations,” adding that “the nation's vigilance would intensify the Zionist regime's collapse.”
President of the Islamic Republic further noted that Syria is facing pressure by the dominant powers in the world because of its support to the regional resistance movement against Israel.
For his part, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement secretary general stated that pressure against the Palestinians and regional resistance movements is increasing because the hegemonic countries’ power is declining.
