Yemeni anti-government demonstrators have taken to the streets to protests against the parliament's decision to give Saleh full immunity from prosecution, Press TV reported.

Chanting anti-government slogans, protesters on Friday in Sana'a stressed that they would continue their protests until the goals of the revolution are achieved.

They dubbed the day “Friday of making history” and Friday prayers leader called on demonstrators to elect a president who would make efforts to materialize the objectives of their revolution.

Demonstrators also vowed to stand against what they described as the attempts of Saleh's regime to sabotage the upcoming elections.

Protesters in Taez called for the dismissal of the remnants of Saleh's regime and the ouster of corrupt officials.

They demanded that Saleh and his aides be prosecuted for crimes they committed, including the violent suppression of year-long protests that left hundreds dead.

Saleh arrived in the United States on Sunday to receive “medical treatment” for injuries he had sustained in an attack on the presidential palace in Sana'a in June 2011.

The Yemeni embassy in Washington said he was scheduled to stay in the US for “a short-term private medical visit”. Last week, the embassy officials said Saleh would “return to Yemen in February.”
