Iranian warships entered the Mediterranean Sea Saturday in a step aimed at “showing Tehran's power”, Navy Commander Admiral Habibollah Sayari told IRNA, amid increasing tensions with Israel.
“The strategic navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has passed through the Suez Canal for the second time since the Islamic Revolution,” Sayari told the Islamic Republic News Agency, indicating that this step aims at showing the country’s power as well as “a message of peace and friendship”.
