Lebanon President Michel Sleiman said Sunday that no one can insult the presidency, and he who does gets harmed before anyone else.
In an interview with Al-Mustaqbal newspaper, that ministers are “obliged” to implement cabinet decisions, adding that if they do not, they must have an excuse or else they should resign.
Sleiman told Al-Mustaqbal newspaper that resuming cabinet sessions “will definitely happen”, adding that the current cabinet could be called as a government that includes the March 8 forces and independent forces and not of one single party and this is clearly evident in numerous topics.
“The Minister is obliged to implement cabinet decisions and if he doesn’t, he must have an execuse, otherwise he should resign,” the president said.
Sleiman also said that he “holds on to his position” that devolution of power in Syria or any nearby country “gives Lebanon the opportunity to practice its democracy correctly.”
