NATO occupation soldier was killed Tuesday in southern Afghanistan, taking the death toll of occupation troops killed in the war-torn country to to 68.

 NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said that the soldier was killed in an “insurgent attack”, but without providing further details.

Independent website iCasualties.org puts the international troop death toll in Afghanistan so far this year at 68.

There are around 140,000 international occupation troops in Afghanistan, around two-thirds of them from the United States.
