Amnesty Wants Adnan Immediately Released to Save his Life

Khader AdnanAmnesty International urged the Zionist entity to immediately release Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan saying Tel Aviv’s decision to release him by mid-April is “insufficient” as he needs urgent medical treatment.

Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Interim Director for the Middle East and North Africa said a deal which will see Khader Adnan released on 17 April “unless significant new evidence emerges is insufficient when he needs urgent medical treatment to save his life now.”

“Even if reports that Khader Adnan has agreed to end his hunger strike are true, this does not mean he is out of danger, nor does it lessen the need for highly specialized medical care,” he said.

“He cannot constitute a ‘security threat’ in his current condition and should be released from custody immediately. The Israeli authorities have revealed no evidence justifying his continued detention,” said Luther.

The detainee’s lawyer Jamil Khatib told Palestine Today Website that an agreement was reached with the Israeli occupation under which the court moves up appeal hearing scheduled for him on Tuesday evening by the so-called High Court of Justice in Al-Quds, and then he continues his "sentence" of four months in administrative detention which ends on next April 16, not to be rearrested yet Adnan ends his hunger strike.
