Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said that “an Israeli attack [aimed at thwarting] Iran's nuclear program would set the Middle East ablaze."
In an interview with Reuters published on Wednesday, Sheikh Qassem said that such an attack “could possibly drag in the United States and unleash a conflict beyond the Jewish state's control.”
“America knows that if there is a war on Iran, this means that the whole region will be set alight," he added.
His eminence also voiced belief that “Israel would try to drag the US into a confrontation with Tehran.”
Asked if Hezbollah would attack Israel in response to any strike on Iran, Sheikh Qassem said Iran can defend itself but that such an attack would "ignite the entire region."
