"We have to study all options to save the Syrian people," Al-Thani said after meeting European Parliament head Martin Schulz.

The Qatari premier was in favor of sending an international peacekeeping force to Syria, with an Arab "core," and on Monday he said he backed delivering arms to the Syrian opposition.

But he denied any Qatari troops were on the ground in Syria. "That's not true at all," he said.

However media reports talked about existence of Qatari and other foreign troops in Syria.

Earlier, Debkafile reported earlier there were Qatari and British soldiers fighting in Syria.

In the same context, Al-Manar website quoted well-informed sourceson Tuesday as saying there were French troops fighting the Syrian army in Homs.

The United Kingdom has repeatedly voiced support to the so called Syrian “opposition”, with its Foreign Minister told Lebanese daily as-Safir that his country was “offering aid to the opposition”.

“I have met the Syrian National Council (SNC) on Friday and I have offered them some aid, and we’ll do that with other opposition parties”, William Hague told as-Safir.
