A young man was seriously wounded on Monday morning during clashes with Israeli occupation forces near Atara checkpoint, north of Ramallah, a Ma'an news agency correspondent said.

Dozens of young men were throwing stones at soldiers stationed at Atara checkpoint when Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters in their direction.

Witnesses say Muhammad Tayseer Abu Awwad was seriously injured after being hit in the head with a tear gas canister.
