Lebanon Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour said Sunday that “Lebanon welcomes Russia’s initiative concerning the Syrian crisis.

“The Russian initiative called for a ceasefire from both parties and providing for the humanitarian needs for the Syrian people, but it did not mention regime change,” the National News Agency quoted Mansour as saying. He added that the Arab League and Russia have agreed on five points to start on the new path.

However, Mansour said the Syrian opposition should cooperate with the points agreed on between Russia and the Arab League.
