Militants killed six Pakistani policemen on Thursday in a northwestern tribal district of Khyber, on the border with Afghanistan, officials said."Six khasadar (tribal policemen) were martyred after unknown gunmen fired at their patrol vehicle," tribal administration chief Shafeerullah Khan told AFP news agency, adding that three others were wounded.
The incident took place when tribal police were patrolling Alam Gudar area, some 30 kilometers southwest of Peshawar, Khan added.
A local security official confirmed the ambush and casualties.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attack.
